Eglin Aero Club Standard Operating Procedures

WHO IS ELIGIBLE TO JOIN THE AERO CLUB:

  • Active Duty Personnel
  • Retired Military Personnel
  • Active Reserve
  • National Guard
  • Base Contractors
  • Dependants of the Above
  • Civil Air Patrol Members

DUES AND FEES:

  1. Initial Fee: $25.00 (Waived with Letter of Goodstanding from a military aero club.)
  2. Dues:
    • Full: $25.00 per month
    • Family: $40.00 per month
    • Student/Senior: $12.50 per month
    • Navigator: $60.00 per year

FLYING SAFETY MEETING: Second Thursday of every month, 1800 hours, at the Eglin Yacht Club.

PINCH HITTERS COURSE: A course designed to have your spouse or significant other to "pinch hit" for you or be of great assistance in the event of an emergency. With four hours of ground instruction and four hours of concentrated instruction on landings. No medical or license is required.

GROUND SCHOOL CLASSES: Ground school classes are conducted for all flying courses. Tuition assistance is available for pilot ground schools.

COMPUTERIZED FAA TESTING: The Aero Club administers all tests over the CATS computer testing system.

MILITARY COMPETENCY: The military pilot can obtain his commercial and instrument rating.
