BIO:

Jim Nelson is the Chief Instructor Pilot for the Eglin Aero Club. Jim began his passion with Flying at age 15. Today Jim has over 3,000 hours Pilot in Command and over 2,000 hours of dual Instruction given. Additionally, he has been designated by the Federal Aviation Administration as an examiner for the FAR Part 141 flight school. He currently manages 10 flight instructors, 100 yearly students ranging from Private Pilot to Airline Transport Pilot and 14 general aviation aircraft.

Jim has performed as Pilot In Command in a number of different aircraft to include, J3 Cub, Cessna 150, 172, 182, 210, 310, 337, AA1A Grumman Yankee, AA5 Grumman Tiger, PT-19, Maul, Vans RV4, M20 Mooney, Beechcraft Sierra, Beechcraft Duchess and SR22 Cirrus. He holds a commercial rating land and sea with Instrument privileges in both single and multiengine aircraft. He is also a Certificated Flight Instructor (CFI), CFII, MEI, AGI and IGI.

Jim is the holder of a Masters of Science Degree in Business Management and is a active duty Master Sergeant stationed at Hurlburt Field, FL.
