Dauphin Island Flyout

Sunday, March 14, 2010

Great Fun was had by all 9 aircraft landed at Dauphin Island.  All extra seats were shared by non-members for our first ever $100 Hamburger event.  The Aero Club provided a van that followed  the aircraft over to Dauphin Island. (took twice as long and then some.)  We ferried fliers and passengers over to Barnacle Bills a local seafood restaurant.  The message on the staff shirts was Great Food, Lousy Service.  They were right !!!!  But we had fun.  Afterwards a few had to return home but the remainder were driven by our fearless driver  to Ft Gaines.  The Fort is beautifully maintained and after a nominal entrance fee ($5) we toured the Fort.  The last plane left Dauphin Island at 1600.  Please watch for photos as soon as we can figure out how to download them.
